How long have you been in business?
I started Austin Tree Experts in 2003. However, my career in the tree business (in Austin) began in 1996. -- Keith Brown, owner.
What is your primary product or service?
Austin Tree Experts primary service is "tree care". This includes tree pruning / trimming, fertilizing, treatments, diagnosis, care plans, consulting / professional services, and any special projects tree related. We also do tree removal and stump removal.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My first job in the tree business was a summer job in high school. I worked on the ground crew cleaning up and dragging brush. Watching the worker climb in the trees was fascinating to me so I came back for my last summer and then started full time after high school. I am a science nut and love working outdoors, so this was the perfect career for me. 16 years later...I am one of only 10 Board Certified Master Arborists in the state of Texas and I own a thriving tree care business.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
For starters, we are very specialized. Austin Tree Experts doesn't do any other landscape maintenance work. We are truely Tree Experts. In comparison to other tree care specialists, I'd say the main thing that sets us apart is our follow through. The one big mistake that I see most tree services make is failing to really follow through as a tree care provider. By follow through I am referring to a few subjects. First, tree care is more than tree pruning. Most tree companies are really just chainsaws for hire, but they call themselves "professional tree service." Second, managing tree health or reviving a sick tree takes time. Usually takes several years to restore the canopy of a sick tree. We offer annual care programs. No other tree care service in Austin offers this as a comprehensive package. And we do the follow up for you. When it's time to do something, we call you. No other tree service offers this either.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one office is south Austin, from which we serve the entire metropolitan area. There are no plans to expand outside of Austin, and there is no need for us to open multiple offices. We work better when everybody meets together. Austin Tree Experts is actively looking for new customers. We have one exceptional arborist in a technician position; when our customer base grows large enough he will get promoted to a management position.

You don't need to come to us. We'll come to you. We serve the entire Austin metro area. From Georgetown to Buda, and Fredericksburg to Bastrop.
What type of payments do you accept?
Austin Tree Experts accepts all major credit cards, checks and cash. We have convenient online credit card payment.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Keith Brown is the owner and operator. Keith and Micah are the two arborists who run appointments for new prospective customers. Tara is the tree health care manager resposible for keeping up with all trees on a care program. Veronica manages the pruning crews schedules, and Gina answers the primary phone line and sets up appointments.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday thru Friday 8-5. If you have special needs please let us know. We're happy to make accomodations when necessary (and reasonable).
